At George Freeman School, learning is our top priority. Student success in all subject areas is taken seriously and teachers are constantly formatively assessing students to identify areas of strength and growth so that teaching and learning can be tailored to best meet student needs.
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 will have elementary generalist teachers. Students enrolled in grades 6 through 9 will have subject specialist teachers.
In addition to the traditional core subjects, a number of options will also be offered for our Junior High students. Entrepreneurship, Foods, Connecting and Contributing to the Community, Environment and Sustainability, Robotics, and Fitness are just a few of the classes students can choose from.
George Freeman School is also excited to offer Sports Academies in soccer and baseball/fastball. In our first year, these programs will begin after Christmas. They are optional and will run during the school day, with a focus on skill development and teamwork. No previous experience in a sport is required to join an Academy.
The George Freeman School Falcons will participate in a variety of extracurricular sports at the Junior High level. Cross country running, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track and field will all be offered. A number of other athletic and non-athletic clubs such as Environment and Sustainability, Book Club, and Robotics, will also be set up for students of all ages to participate in. Details of exactly which clubs will be running and the commitment to participate will be available once school begins in the fall. Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers if there is a club that they would like to see set up at George Freeman School!
