On Tuesday, February 27th, 2019, the Golden Hills Board of Trustees and staff of George Freeman School had the honour of welcoming students, families, community members, and special guests from across the Strathmore area to the Grand Opening Ceremony of George Freeman School. Principal Wayne Funk officiated the proceedings in front of the entire staff, student body and over one hundred community members and special guests. The ceremony was a positive success, with many of the speakers complimenting the remarkable work of the partners in developing such an amazing facility.
The opening ceremony was also an opportunity to honour the memory of Mr. George Freeman and the legacy he leaves in Strathmore. In the years to come, George Freeman School will not only be a place of opportunity, learning and growth, but it will also be a home to a strong community that continues to power hope and possibilities.
Please join us as we celebrate the opening of our newest school, George Freeman School.
