My name is Wayne Funk and I am happy to introduce myself to you as the Principal of George Freeman School. This will be my 19th year as a school principal with the previous two years being the most gratifying as we have opened George Freeman School and had two amazing years to kick things off. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1990 and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary in 2010. I love watching sports (especially the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and Saskatchewan Roughriders) and watching my 2 kids play sports. My wife Mona, teaches kindergarten here at GFS and both of our kids are attending UBCO in Kelowna on volleyball scholarships! A little known fact about me is that I have seen major league baseball games in 17 out of the 30 major league stadiums around North America. I try and get to a new stadium or two every year.
