Mona Funk

Hello Falcons!  My name is Mona Funk and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten for a second year at George Freeman School.  The staff and students at GFS are amazing, and I even get to work with my husband!   I have taught many grades in many schools throughout our division, but my passion is for teaching the youngest learners.  Before I came here to teach kindergarten, I taught children in grade one for ten years. I love teaching the beginning literacy and numeracy skills, and I love the curiosity and enthusiasm of the kinders.  When I am not at school I enjoy watching my children play sports (Caleb and Natalie will both be playing volleyball at UBC Okanagan). I love reading and travelling and reading about travelling, and I enjoy being outside in nature going for hikes/walks, laying on a beach, or snorkelling in the ocean.
