MacKenzie Bain

Hi all! My name is Mackenzie Bain and I could not be more excited to be a part of the Falcon community this year!
I graduated from the University of Victoria with my Bachelor of Education. I grew up on a small acreage just outside of Strathmore and went to school here from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This past year I was an Early Numeracy Intervention teacher with Golden Hills School Division and I am excited to use what I learned in that role and apply it to my new position. I am very passionate about teaching and in my class you will always find lots of discussion, hands on activities, and real world experiences.
Some of my hobbies include photography, hiking, biking, playing sports, and running. Just this past June I ran my first full marathon at the 2023 Banff Marathon. One little known fact about me is that I was one of the leaders of the University of Victoria Surf Club! I still own a board and wetsuit but they aren’t doing me much good in the prairies!
